Hi, I’m Tara and I am a Rochester, Minnesota Photographer who specializes in maternity, newborn and family sessions. I’ve talked a lot about why adding family in to your maternity session is important-and I’ll reiterate it again and again-and this session really sums it up and needs no explanation.

Bringing a new baby into this world is truly a family affair. That is why it’s important to bring your significant other, your other kids and even your fur babies into it to capture those special moments leading up to and after having your newborn. I love showcasing those beautiful bellies with your significant other’s arms wrapped around you. The looks you and your partner give each other right before the chaos ensues of having a new addition. The way your child looks at you and has that twinkle in their eye, maybe not quite knowing what to expect but also extremely excited. Even watching your bond with your dog makes me giddy!! Maternity for me showcases not only all of that, but the beauty of bringing babies into this world.

I have 5 kids and have been pregnant 8 times, and every single aspect of the miracle of being pregnant has not escaped me. As hard as pregnancy can be, it’s also the most rewarding job we will ever do as mamas. And I am here to capture that and to make it look like you truly wish it would feel, if you aren’t someone who enjoys being pregnant. The photos that you can look back on and remember the tiny kicks, the rolling movements, the way your kids and partner got so excited to feel that baby kick. My goal is to help mamas feel beautiful regardless of how they really feel-swollen, tired and ready for this stage of life to be over with-because it truly does go by too fast and it’s so nice to have a piece of art to remember it by.
